How many bartenders do I need for my party?

Individual circumstances can affect this, but as a general rule you will need 1 bartender for every 50 guests

What time will you arrive to set-up?

Depending on the size of the event,  we will arrive 45 minutes – 2 hours prior to the event start time.  Plan on 30-90 minutes for clean-up time.

How far in advance do I have to reserve your services?

We suggest reserving your date as soon as your event is confirmed. At least 2 weeks advanced notice is ideal, but don’t be afraid to contact us at the last minute; we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Can I buy my own alcohol beverages or can The Burly Bartender supply alcohol?

Yes to both. You can supply your own alcohol by selecting our “Bartender Only” package, or you can choose an all-inclusive package option and we will supply the alcohol for your event. We are happy to assist you with whichever option best suits your needs!

Can you help me come up with a signature cocktail?

Of course! We have build our business around mixology and craft cocktails you don’t see at every bar. Just tell us what you’re looking for. Start by letting us know what your special occasion is and what colors you’re using for the celebration, what your liquor preference is, and what kind of taste you want for the drink (sweet/sour/spicy/etc.)

What comes with the bartender only package?

  • Bar service for 4 hours (minimum) & 1 hour of set-up
  • Bartender’s mixing tools
  • Bar

Does the hourly bartender fee include the bar?

Yes, the bartender fee covers the cost of our basic portable bar if the client requests to use it. Bar upgrades are available for additional cost. Contact us to learn about bar options.

Do you put out tip jars?

We do place tip jars at an event unless it is discussed otherwise. If not, an 18% gratuity is added to all service packages for the staff.

Do you charge a gratuity on your invoice?

Gratuity is not included on the invoice unless the client directs that it be. Usually clients will choose either to tip the bartenders directly, or allow us to display an event-appropriate tip jar so that guests can tip the bartender if they please.

We ask that the client notify us in advance if he or she prefers to tip directly, for our records and the bartender’s information. Gratuity amount is left up to the client’s discretion, but a gratuity of $4.00 per guest or 10-20% of the total bill is standard if the client is happy with the service received.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A 50% deposit is due upon signature of the The Burly Bartender Event Agreement, which is required to reserve your date. The balance is due a week prior to the event date.

How can I pay for the event?

You are able to pay online through the electronic invoice that will be sent to you by email.

If you prefer to pay by check, please contact us for more info, and be sure to send it far enough in advance that we receive it at least 1 week prior to your event.

Do you carry Liquor Liability Insurance?

Yes, we carry Liquor liability and General liability for all events that we service. We can provide a certificate of insurance if requested.

What kind of alcohol service policies do you have?

We have multiple policies in place to ensure your guests have a great time, but don’t get intoxicated to a dangerous level. We have several policies you will have to agree to when signing a contract with us:

  • We do not serve shots. We may do a signature shot as a toast if ordered, but generally speaking we don’t want people drinking too many shots too fast.
  • We DO NOT serve minors. All guests must be able to present a valid, legal ID in order to consume alcohol. We are happy to accept a Driver’s License, Passport  (US or foreign) , State ID or a Military ID from your guests. So sorry, but we do not accept Birth Certificates, Student ID’s, Facebook photos or Voter Registration cards as a valid form of ID.
  • We will only serve one guest up to two drinks at a time. If they order additional drinks, we will assist them with getting them back to their table and distributed to other guests. At Last Call we will only serve one drink per person.
  • We do not hand out sealed bottles or alcohol “to-go”.
  • We do not allow guests to bring in their own alcohol, this includes mini bottles or flasks.
  • We will certainly discontinue service to a guest if our bartenders determine they are intoxicated.

How do i calculate the number of guests?

In order to order the right amount of product, a firm headcount is required seven days before your party. If your event is open to the public and you are unsure of the amount of people who will attend, then we can issue wristbands and will bill you for the actual  # of guests or the given estimate, whichever is higher. Guests under 21 will be charged for soda service so we can provide them with non-alcoholic drinks.

Do you rent wine glasses and cocktail cups?

Yes, we can rent glassware to you for your event. You can find our selection on our glassware rental page.

Can the bartender serve non-alcoholic drinks as well?

Absolutely! Our bartenders are more than capable and willing to serve non-alcoholic drinks for your guests.

Do we get to keep the leftover alcohol?

If you provide the alcohol you are permitted to keep what is left after your event. Per state regulation, The Burly Bartender will remove and keep all the leftover alcohol that we provided at the conclusion of the event.

What about Last Call?

For the safety of the guests and liability of the host, Last Call will be announced 45 minutes prior to the end time of the event and all alcoholic beverages will stopped being served 30 minutes prior the to the event end-time. After this time, the bartenders will continue to serve water, and any other non-alcoholic beverage options that the host has chosen to provide.

Can I pay for an additional hour the night of the party?

Absolutely! If we have no other time restraints, and the party is still kickin’ as the end time is approaching, Burly Bartender can invoice an additional hour per the host’s request. Invoice is to be paid in cash or via our electronic invoicing system at the time of the request.

What will your staff wear?

Our standard uniform is rustic, black shirt, with leather apron,  however, if you have a special request, we will try to make it work. We love to match themes whenever possible!

We’ll send you a Burly Bartender Event Agreement. Once you sign it and make your deposit, your date will be secured with us and we can move on to the fun part!
